As a yoga teacher, I’ve found immense pleasure in delving into and expanding my knowledge about the practice. From adopting the yogic principles into my everyday life, to studying each pose for all that they have to offer – yoga is my inspiration.

Therefore, each month on the blog I’ll be giving you a taste of what you need to know about a specific pose, in the hopes that my writing will help strengthen and motivate your practice:

Physical Benefits

· Happy Spine: By inverting your body, you release the compression of your spine and improve your posture.

· Improved Circulation: While in a handstand, blood flow increases to the head.

· Deep Breathing: The shift of the abdominal organs onto the diaphragm allow you to breathe deeper, thus removing more carbon dioxide from your lungs.

Mental Benefits

· Increased Focus and Reduced Anxiety: Holding this pose requires your mind to truly attune to your body, allowing you to experience the present moment.
